9/9/2014. Is something happening on that day?? Did you happen to get an invite from Cupertino, California? Oh yeah, that's right, it's the day Apple is speculated to be announcing the new iPhone. And, rumors are rampant that Apple will be announcing much more.

The rumors are aplenty as usual.  I often wonder how much entertainment Tim Cook  (and Steve Jobs before him) gets out of the flurry of chatter they cause just by announcing a date.  I love how this year they say "We wish we could say more" on the "invite". Ha! No, they don't. They say just enough to confirm something is happening and then enjoy the uproar they cause! If they told us more, why bother to have the hoopla?  Why schedule an event?  Then they would miss out on all the developers and tech geeks "oohs and aahs" in the audience as it's announced live!

So, what are some of the rumors flying around now?  Let's see:

1. Obviously new iPhone, rumored to be called iPhone 6.  A new phone release is probably a given. What it entails, that's debatable. Will there be two screen sizes to choose from? A 4.7 and a 5.5?

2. iWallet.  This weekend rumors started flying that Apple partnered with Visa, Master Card & American Express to offer a mobile payment system thru the iPhone. The payment system is rumored to be called "Near Field Communications".

3. Wearable tech. Wearable tech, otherwise known as the iWatch. Some rumors suggest it will be announced on 9/9 but won't be available until 2015.

4. Bigger iPad. It is rumored that an iPad with a 12.9-inch screen is in the works. Whether it will be announced on 9/9 is another story.  It is also rumored the next generation iPad's will have an "anti-reflective screen".  This is one rumor I hope for on all Apple devices! I still can't believe that Apple lets the Kindle trump them on this.  That you can read on a Kindle in direct sunlight and still can't on your iPhone or iPad is insane!

So, there you have the top 4 rumors that are flying about. What rumors have you heard about that you can't want for or what is on your wish list for Apple products? I know many of you are anxiously awaiting iOS8.  We have had it here in beta since we are Apple-approved developers.  Typically, the betas are betas and they are buggy.  Our coder in training son loves to experiment with the betas.  After awhile the novelty wears off and he switches back when he gets tired of things crashing or locking up.  There are some cool things to look forward to in iOS8. There is home automation, messages improvements and more. Lets also not forget OS X Yosemite which will allow interaction between iOS and Mac's making life more connected! So, enough with the rumors already we have only a week left to wait. Let the hoopla commence!
